Welcome to MCK School 2018

Welcome one and all on our journey into a new era for 2018. As we stand at the dawn of our school year, we enter the gates to a new name, new values and most importantly a change in our theme… “It starts with each one of us’

2017 has come and gone with many good and but also sad memories, from all the good sporting and extra-curricular achievements to the loss of loved ones and the passing on of our three school learners. However there is one constant that holds us together as the MCK family, and that is the ability to stand together as one strong staff irrespective the challenge, it is and must always be ‘the commitment to our MCK learners’

our chess team who, under the steadfast dedication and leadership of Mr Chilwane, is playing at the National Chess Tournament the week of the 9th-11th of January 2018.

2018 starts with a bang, as the Deputy National Educational Minster, Mr. Enver Surty will be at our school on the 17th January at 2018 to do the official welcome and the handover of the MTN Media Centre and school shoes for all the learners.

The total number of learners expected will be just over 400, this include our Deaf and Hearing MID sections. Our CS staff compliment will remain constant with 37 CS staff. We welcome Mr. Francois, who has been appointed as a CS educator in place of Mr Bobby, whom we will sadly miss. We remain with our professional support staff, administration staff and all our grounds staff. Ms. Sifiso will substitute in the place of Ms. Patricia who is on maternity leave.
Upon entering the school, one is saddened by the destruction caused to the learner _and car shelters by the severe storm on the 30th December 2017. These are minor setbacks and areas which can be rebuilt. We are fortunate that the school 2017 has come and gone with many good and but also sad memories, from all the good sporting and extra-curricular achievements to the loss of loved ones and the passing on of our three school learners. So what does 2018 hold in store…..was empty when the storm occurred and that no one was injured.
